Sr. Zenaida “Zeny” Cabrera, a tireless advocate for restorative justice and a member of the Sisters of the Holy Eucharist, passed away on January 15, 2025, in Quezon City at the age of 73.
Having dedicated over 20 years to the Restorative Justice Ministry of the Novaliches Diocese and serving as Caritas Manila’s coordinator for the same ministry, Sr. Cabrera was known for her compassion and unwavering commitment to persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).
The Novaliches diocese and the Episcopal Commission on Prison Pastoral Care (ECPPC) of the CBCP mourned her passing, honoring her legacy of love and service. “Her tireless efforts brought hope, dignity, and transformation to countless lives,” the diocese said.
Sr. Cabrera made her final public appearance on January 9 during the opening of the Jubilee Year celebration at Quezon City Jail.
