Share Ko Lang: Mga Kuwento ng Serbisyong Kusang Loob | 06 Mar 25

The 16th episode of SKL: Stories of Kindness and Leadership showcased yet another set of heartwarming and inspiring testimonies from former Jesuit Volunteers Philippines (JVP) members, highlighting the lasting impact of their experiences in service.

Among the featured guests was Aboy Abayan (B34), who shared how his encounters with JVP mentors shaped his passion for service. As a student at Divine Child Academy, he was deeply influenced by his teachers, Fr. Kristoffer Habal (B26) and Dr. Jacqueline Frances F. Momville (B26). Their guidance not only enriched his education but also instilled in him the values of servant leadership. Inspired by their example, Aboy later became a JVP himself and is now giving back as a public high school teacher in his hometown of Lawaan, Eastern Samar.

Meanwhile, Manuel Uy (B28) recounted how the selfless dedication of his college teachers and formators motivated him to reach out to those in need. Unaware at first that many of these mentors were JVPs, he later realized that their shared commitment to service came from a common foundation. This discovery affirmed his own calling to serve, leading him to join JVP. Manuel also reflected on the blessings he received, particularly being supported through school by his aunt, and how this gratitude fuels his mission to give back after earning his degree from Ateneo de Naga University.

The episode was hosted by Kit Malvar Llamas (B16) and Gyobs Baguio (B26/27), who guided the discussion as Aboy and Manny shared their moving, challenging, and deeply inspiring journeys.

The SKL series continues to highlight the transformative power of volunteerism and service, inspiring many to follow in the footsteps of those who have dedicated their lives to uplifting others.
