Walk for Life 2025: Advocating for the Sanctity of Life in Manila

MANILA – As February arrives, many celebrate love, but for pro-life advocates, it is also a time to “Walk for Life.” The annual event, organized by the Council of the Laity of the Philippines, will take place on February 23, starting at Rizal Park and concluding at the Manila Cathedral.

The Walk for Life aims to uphold the sanctity of life and promote a culture of hope. “Let’s come together to celebrate the gift of life and bring the message of hope to the world,” the organizers said. “Let’s walk with purpose, stand for life, and be a beacon of hope.”

Participants are expected to assemble at 4:00 a.m. at Lawn C, Flower Clock Area, Rizal Park. The two-kilometer walk will commence at 4:30 a.m., passing through Maria Orosa Street, General Luna Street, Muralla Street, and Sto. Tomas Avenue before reaching the Manila Cathedral.

Upon arrival, a short program and a Eucharistic celebration will be held, presided over by Cardinal Jose Advincula.

Since its inception in 2017, Walk for Life has become an annual event promoting the “culture of life” in contrast to the “culture of death.” Last year, the walk spanned from Welcome Rotonda in Quezon City to the University of Santo Tomas (UST).

Advocates and supporters are encouraged to participate and stand together in defending the dignity of life.
