Vatican City, February 24, 2025 – Pope Francis remains in critical condition but has not suffered any further respiratory crises, according to the latest update from the Holy See Press Office. Despite the severity of his condition, he remains alert and continues to receive oxygen therapy.
Medical reports indicate that the Pope has been receiving concentrated red blood cell transfusions, leading to an improvement in his hemoglobin levels. While his thrombocytopenia remains stable, early signs of mild renal insufficiency have been observed, though they are currently under control. High-flow oxygen therapy continues through nasal cannulas.
Despite his fragile health, Pope Francis participated in Holy Mass this morning from his hospital apartment on the tenth floor, joined by those caring for him. His faith and resilience continue to inspire millions around the world. However, given the complexity of his condition, the prognosis remains cautious.

A Prayer for Pope Francis
Heavenly Father, Lord of mercy and compassion,
We lift up to You our beloved Holy Father, Pope Francis. In this time of trial and suffering, we ask for Your healing hands to be upon him. Grant him strength in his body, peace in his spirit, and the grace to endure with faith and courage.
Lord Jesus, Divine Healer, You walked among the sick and restored them to health. Look kindly upon Your servant, who has dedicated his life to shepherding Your Church. May Your presence be his comfort, Your love his refuge, and Your will his guide.
Holy Spirit, breath of life, sustain him in this hour of need. Enlighten the doctors and all those caring for him, that they may be instruments of Your healing power.
Mother Mary, Health of the Sick, intercede for him. Wrap him in your maternal embrace and present our prayers before your Son.
We entrust Pope Francis to Your divine providence, O Lord, trusting that Your will is perfect and Your mercy unending.
Amen.
🙏 Let us continue to pray for the Holy Father.
