February 26, 2025 – Yesterday, February 25, marked the 39th anniversary of the historic EDSA People Power Revolution, a pivotal moment in Philippine history that inspired the world in the fight for democracy and sovereignty.
The Ateneo community, alongside various organizations, participated in a series of activities to honor the legacy of the peaceful uprising that led to the restoration of democracy in the country. Through forums, solidarity events, and commemorative programs, participants reflected on the significance of EDSA, emphasizing that it is not merely a story of the past but a living history that continues to shape the nation’s future.
The event served as a reminder of the power of unity and collective action in safeguarding freedom and democracy, echoing the spirit of 1986 that resonated beyond the Philippines and inspired movements worldwide.

Almighty God,
You are the source of truth, justice, and peace. As we commemorate the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution, we lift up our nation to You. May we always remember the courage of those who stood for freedom and the sacrifices made for our democracy.
Grant us wisdom to discern what is right, strength to uphold justice, and love to foster unity amid differences. Let the spirit of EDSA continue to inspire us to work for the common good, especially for the poor, the oppressed, and the marginalized.
May our leaders govern with integrity, and may our people remain steadfast in the pursuit of truth and righteousness. Guide us always in the path of peace and solidarity, that we may build a nation rooted in faith, hope, and love.
